Tata Avinya X Explained: What To Expect From Tata’s Premium Electric Suv

The Tata Avinya X is set to become the first automobile to be manufactured from the premium lineup of Tata Avinya EV cars. The car is designed on the basis of the concept car named “Avinya X,” which was created in 2025. The manufacturing of the car will begin in 2027.

A Premium EV Based On The Coupe-SUV Theme

Tata Avinya X adopts a coupe-SUV look in lieu of the tall design employed by all Tata’s other SUVs. Connectivity themes would characterize the lighting, the sloping roof, short overhang, and wide wheels on the concept model, most of which are expected to be incorporated into the production model.

The cabin would be designed for comfort with high-end finishes and advanced technology inside the cockpit, such as an advanced infotainment system, panoramic glass roof, connectivity technology, and Level 2 ADAS.

Range Beyond 500km Is The Aim

Avinya X has been designed as a high-end, long-range EV, not just another city-oriented electric SUV. From the present sources, it seems like the car would have its battery capacity between 65kWh–80kWh, with an aim for achieving a greater than 500km range in production versions.

One additional feature is going to be the incorporation of the 800V electrical system into the vehicle, which will provide much faster charging compared to the 400V electrical systems used in other electric cars. As sources claim, the vehicle can be charged within 30 minutes, providing a range of 500km.

What About The Platform?

The platform story has changed. Earlier, the Avinya X was seen as built on JLR’s EMA platform. But now, Tata seems to have switched to the Freelander platform from the Chery-JLR family for its future premium EV strategy.

Tata is going to localize the vehicle to a great extent and build software and electronics around it.

When Is The Avinya X Going To Be Released?

The Tata Motors brand has made it clear that the debut release of the Avinya line-up in India is scheduled for 2027. The actual date of release and complete details are yet to be announced by Tata. However, sources predict that the starting price is going to be ₹40 lakh.

Takeaway

The Avinya X is crucial for Tata since it helps the brand go past its current focus on affordable EVs and venture into the premium EV category. The premium approach, together with its emphasis on range and fast charging capabilities, could help it stand out compared to other EVs in Tata’s portfolio.

But there are still many important aspects that need to be known, including the type of battery, range, performance capabilities, and pricing. In this respect, one should treat the Avinya X as the future 2027 premium electric vehicle (EV).
