Skoda To Hike Car Prices From October: Increase Capped At ₹20,000

Skoda Auto India will raise prices of all its vehicles from October 1, 2026. The increase will only be 1.2 percent, with the maximum possible increase of ₹20,000 based on the particular model and variant. This is because of the rising input cost according to the company.

All Skoda Models Will Be More Expensive

This is applicable to all models under the Skoda India portfolio, such as the Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, Kodiaq, Octavia RS, and Superb. Nonetheless, the amount of increase will differ from one car to another.

Skoda has not raised the price of its vehicles with a flat percentage increment. The company will raise the ex-showroom price of each car by different amounts.

Why Does Skoda Hike Price?

Skoda cites rising input and operating costs for this change in price structure, which will be effective from October 1 onwards.

In this context, it must be noted that Skoda is expanding its line of models in India, as can be seen from the recent update to models like Slavia and Kylaq, besides reintroducing Octavia RS and launching the Superb in India.

This will be Skoda’s latest price revision for 2026. In fact, Skoda had hiked prices in the first month of the year with the January revision for models like Slavia, Kylaq and Kushaq. The Slavia has seen a hike of Rs 34,000 while Kylaq was hiked by Rs 19,000 and Kushaq was hiked by Rs 5,000-7,000.

Implications for Purchasers

People who intend to buy a Skoda prior to the hike may find that the increase can vary by about ₹20,000 from one variant to another. The exact increase will be known only after the new prices are announced.

Our View

The forthcoming price increase for Skoda will be somewhat restricted, with the increase not exceeding ₹20,000. However, any buyer who is planning to buy a Skoda can consider looking at the increased prices variant by variant before making the decision to buy it.

These prices will take effect on October 1, 2026.
