Nissan Tekton Based 7 Seater Suv Spied: New Details Emerge Ahead Of 2027 Launch

India will see the next generation Tekton-based seven-seater SUV being developed by Nissan, and the coming model of three rows has finally surfaced being caught on test in India. The new Nissan SUV will use the same CMF-B platform as the new Tekton but in any case it would be quite a different car as compared to the new Tekton.

The upcoming Nissan SUV will be launched sometime in 2027.

The vehicle has a longer rear design due to the added row of seats. According to reports, Nissan also confirmed that the seven-seater model is not just an elongated version of the Tekton.

Changes in Design Against the Tekton Model

The model has retained the same inverted-L-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights and headlamps from the five-seater Tekton model. However, there have been changes in the rear design of the SUV.

One of the most obvious features indicating a three-row seating arrangement is the larger overhang and extra rear quarter glass. There will also be a redesign of the alloy wheels.

Engine and Performance

However, the exact powertrain for the seven-seater has not yet been officially confirmed by Nissan. Currently, it is believed that the most likely candidate is the 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine from the Tekton that generates 161bhp and 280Nm. This engine can be fitted with both manual and wet dual-clutch auto gearboxes on the five-seater model.

It is unlikely that Nissan will use the smaller 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine from the Tekton. Moreover, no information has been provided about the hybrid version and all-wheel drive.

India Focus: The New Family SUV from Nissan

Nissan’s new family SUV based on Tekton will have particular importance for Nissan India that will move from its SUV range to something more. It is believed that the new model will compete with other seven-seat SUVs, such as Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV 7XO.

Nissan has already revealed that Tekton was developed and assembled in India.

Characteristics and Technology

The seven-seater model could borrow a number of high-end features from the Tekton, such as the panoramic roof, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, 360-degree camera, two-screen system, and Level 2 ADAS. The exact feature set is still unknown, though.
