Exeed EX6 from Chery, which is related to Omoda 9, has received a patent in India. This patent allows getting acquainted with the updated SUV even before its official launch in India.
What Is The EX6?
EX6 is the facelift version of the China-spec Exeed Yaoguang. On the global level, it is also called Omoda 9 and Exeed RX.
The patent reveals a completely new front design featuring restyled light clusters, frameless grille, and new alloy wheels with aerodynamic elements. The side profile of the EX6 looks pretty much the same as on the current Omoda 9.
Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

The powertrain of the EX6 will include plug-in hybrid elements. The current Omoda 9 SHS-P produces 443bhp with 756Nm torque and features 0-100kph acceleration in 4.9 seconds.
The range on electric mode is claimed to be 145 km. The car will have ADAS and LiDAR technologies.
What Does The Patent Imply?
Patent filing does not mean that the vehicle will be launched in India. Nevertheless, Chery has been filing patents for some of its models in India since it plans to introduce them into the Indian market in collaboration with JSW Motors.
Our Viewpoint
