Bentley has unveiled its first-ever all-electric production car named Torcal. The new luxury SUV is designed to occupy the place under Bentayga and will be the company’s fourth range of cars, set to launch in India by mid-2027.
Electric Design For A New Bentley
The Torcal brings in a fresh take on the design of Bentley cars, while still incorporating traditional features such as the extended hood and vertical luxury-SUV appearance. This particular model measures about five metres in length, and its wheelbase is just over three metres, although it sits lower and shorter than the normal wheelbase Bentayga. The illuminated grille is equipped with 76 diamond-shaped LED lights.
This model of SUV also comes with slim rear lightings, reduced overhang and 21-inch wheels as standard, while 22-inch wheels can be an option. It has a boot of 90 litres at the front and 460 litres at the back.
888PS Power Output and 600km Range
This model features an 113kWh battery pack and two permanent magnet electric motors. Its top-of-the-line variant has a power output of 888PS along with 1,350Nm torque output, making it the most powerful car among all Bentleys manufactured thus far. The 0-100kph time for this model is 2.9 seconds.
The WLTP range for this vehicle is 600km according to Bentley. The 800V capability enables it to charge from 10% to 80% capacity within 16 minutes using a 400kW charger. 160km of range can be charged in 7 minutes according to Bentley.
A Technologically Advanced Cabin without Forgoing Physical Controls
The Torcal comes with a curved OLED central display, together with physical controls. It also features facial recognition technology that enables the preferred seat and steering settings of the driver, and also an AR head-up display.
There are four different Experience Modes created by Bentley that change the light, sound, climate, and dynamics inside the cabin. The brand has used Dynamic Symphony, where the sounds are recordings of real musical instruments, instead of trying to mimic an engine sound.
What Would Be The Price Of Bentley Torcal In India?
It is estimated that the Torcal will come to India by the latter part of 2027. As per Autocar India, the cost of this car could range between ₹4.5 crore ex-showroom.

The Torcal represents a big leap in terms of Bentley’s approach, but it seems the firm is making efforts to ensure that the Torcal remains a Bentley in addition to being an electric SUV. The attention to detail, physical controls, personalized cabin experience, and impressive performance all seem to maintain the brand’s identity.
The impressive 600km range, in addition to its fast charging capability, makes it perfect for long drives while the advanced suspension and rear wheel steering represent another level of technology.
The real test will be whether Bentley’s loyal customers will accept a Bentley SUV that doesn’t come with the V8 or W12 engines. This will become apparent when the Torcal hits the Indian market in 2027.
