Porsche Cayenne Electric To Launch In India Tomorrow: 642km Range And 1,156hp

The Porsche Cayenne Electric is expected to hit the Indian markets tomorrow, offering an all-electric addition to the luxury sport utility vehicle range. The model will be available in Standard and Turbo versions, both priced at ₹1.76 crore and ₹2.26 crore, respectively.

Two Versions To Choose From

The regular Cayenne Electric uses a twin-motor four-wheel drive system that has the capacity to produce 408hp and 835Nm. It has a capability of accelerating from 0-100kph in 4.8 seconds and its driving range is 642km.

On the other hand, the Cayenne Turbo Electric takes performance levels to another level because it has a maximum of 1,156hp and 1,150Nm. It has a capability of completing a 0-100kph in 2.5 seconds and its driving range is 623km.

113kWh Battery and High-Speed DC Charging

Both cars have a 113kWh battery and their fast charging can work up to 390kW. Porsche claims that the battery charges from 10 to 80 percent in under 16 minutes under favorable conditions.

Furthermore, the Cayenne Electric becomes the first EV model of Porsche to have optional wireless charging with a 11kW capacity through a special charging plate.

A Larger Cayenne With High-Tech Interior

The new all-electric Cayenne is bigger in size compared to the conventional model, with dimensions of 4,985mm length and 3,023mm wheelbase. It also provides a 90-litre frunk and 781 litres of luggage space, expandable to 1,588 litres when the rear seats are stowed away.

In the interior, the SUV is equipped with a 14.25-inch curvy infotainment touchscreen, with an optional 14.9-inch passenger screen on board. Porsche’s digital dashboard features third-party apps, voice-assisted AI, and an augmented-reality head-up display.

Our Take

The Cayenne Electric allows the formula of the most popular Porsche SUV to join the ranks of EVs without giving up performance significantly. With 835Nm torque and 642km claimed range of the base variant, the Turbo version takes it up to supercar standards.

The large battery pack, fast charging capabilities, and ample cabin space make it one of the most crucial launches by Porsche in India.
