Mercedes Benz Glc Electric India Launch Set For November 4: What To Expect

Mercedes-Benz is set to launch its all-electric variant of the popular GLC SUV named ‘GLC Electric’ in India on November 4. The vehicle will be locally assembled in India and is likely to be available in the ‘GLC 400 4Matic’ variant.

715 Km Range & 490 Hp Power

The India variant of the GLC Electric will be equipped with a 94 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors in all-wheel drive configuration. The car is good for an output of about 490 hp and 800Nm, resulting in a 0-100 kph time of 4.3 seconds.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the SUV has a WLTP certified range of 715 km.

Big Hyperscreen Within

Another major attraction is the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that covers the entire dashboard and consists of three displays including driver’s display, central infotainment display and passenger display. It operates on the new updated version of MBUX along with an artificial intelligence assistant.

Some other features to expect from this model include panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS and 360-degree camera.

GLC Electric in Standard Wheelbase for India

Contrary to some other Mercedes-Benz cars that are available in India, the GLC Electric will be launched in its standard wheelbase variant, featuring a wheelbase length of 2,972mm. Additionally, the GLC Electric is also more spacious than the existing ICE GLC, having a length of 4,858mm.

The Indian launch of the car is likely to take place within six months after the launch of the car in Europe.

Expected Price And Competitors

The expected price for this electric version of GLC has not been made public by Mercedes-Benz as yet. The current expected prices for this car are around ₹80-90 lakh ex-showroom.

The BMW iX3 which is due to come to India after some time, is one of the key competitors of GLC Electric.

Our Verdict

This Mercedes Benz GLC Electric is a car that combines long range claims along with great performance and the latest interior technology from the brand within an SUV frame.

Local manufacturing can also make the price of the car quite competitive compared to an imported luxury EV.
