Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG G 63 Offroad Pro in India for INR 3.80 crore, excluding taxes and other showroom charges. The special model comes with off-road elements but continues to have the current 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine available in the G 63. The price difference between the G 63 and Offroad Pro model stands at INR 6 lakh.
Additional Off-Road Equipment for G 63

The most significant updates are made below the distinctive body of the G-Class model. The Offroad Pro model features an active suspension with active roll stabilization and AMG Active Balance Control. This system provides for variable settings of roll stiffness depending on the driving conditions.

The G 63 is also equipped with the new Traction Pro setting that is part of the Rock and Sand drive modes. According to the manufacturers, this system allows for individual control of braking torque for each wheel and provides for up to seven stages of locking.
Rooftop Rack And Ladder Enhance The Package
The Offroad Pro features a rooftop luggage rack fitted with aluminium plates and a detachable ladder at the back to lend the SUV an exploratory touch. This SUV comes on unique 20-inch matte black AMG alloy wheels.

Inside the SUV, Mercedes-Benz continues to offer its 12.3-inch digital driver’s screen along with a 12.3-inch touch screen powered by MBUX NTG7 software. In addition, this SUV is enabled with features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless technology and augmented reality navigation with USB-C port connectivity.
Where off-road terrain is concerned, the display screen displays all the pertinent data such as the position of the vehicle, compass direction, altitude, steering angle, tire pressure, and temperature. There is also a camera to see under the bonnet.
Power Retains Its Hold
Offroad Pro features the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that powers the AMG G 63 and has a capacity of 585 horsepower and 850 Nm. There is also a 48V mild-hybrid system that provides an additional 22hp. The transmission is automatic, with power going to all four wheels.
Our Viewpoint
While the G 63 Offroad Pro is not all about performance, it is clearly an effort to make the G-Class variant more equipped for off-roading than before. With added features and equipment specifically for the offroad experience, the G 63 Offroad Pro has a completely different goal in mind compared to the regular G 63.
Even though the cost of ₹3.80 crore makes it a luxury vehicle, the difference comes in the extra ₹6 lakh being used for offroading parts.
