Engine, Fuel Efficiency and Twin CNG Cylinder Configuration
The engine used by the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG is a 1.2 litre MPFI turbo engine with an output of 110hp and 200Nm. The company claims that its efficiency is 24.7km/kg while using CNG. It can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph within 11.8 seconds.
It uses two CNG cylinders which are positioned below the luggage compartment ensuring a flat floor for the luggage compartment with a capacity of 270 litres. The car will automatically switch to petrol when CNG gets exhausted.
Features and Safety
The variants of the vehicle come with various features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument panel, a panoramic sunroof, a 360° camera, dual climate control system, connectivity car technology, and Dolby Atmos. The safety features of this SUV include six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchorage points, and disc brakes on all four wheels. The XUV 3XO has also got a five-star rating from Bharat NCAP.
Focus on India: Is It Possible for the Vehicle to Beat the Brezza and Nexon CNG?
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG comes as a rival car to the Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG and Tata Nexon i-CNG. With its turbo charged engine and sophisticated gadgets inside the car, this SUV could attract those customers who seek performance from their SUV along with low cost of run from using CNG.
But the running cost will totally depend on CNG rates and driving miles per day. Customers must first find out CNG rates and compare gadgets present in each variant.
Racing Ability: An Honest Review
Although equipped with a turbocharger and a torque of 200Nm, the XUV 3XO ZNG is a car built for regular use, not racing. A 0–100kmph time of 11.8 seconds is good enough for a CNG compact SUV, but it is not built for performance. The manual transmission will make it easier to drive, and the turbocharger will be helpful when overtaking other vehicles. My honest opinion: it will have useful everyday performance when driving.
