Hyundai has now begun accepting booking orders for the upcoming Bayon SUV in India, ahead of the SUV’s likely launch in the coming month. The Bayon SUV will be positioned above theVenue but below the Creta in Hyundai’s SUV range, targeting customers seeking an economical option over the Creta.
Hyundai Bayon Booking Open

People can book the Bayon now, either on the company’s official website or through the authorized Hyundai dealerships. The SUV is going to hit the market during the forthcoming festive season, with the launch probably happening next month.
It was earlier reported that Hyundai will name the India-bound SUV Bayon; however, the SUV available in India will be somewhat different from the Bayon crossover that is already available in other countries. The name Bayon has been chosen because it is the name of a French city named Bayonne.
A New SUV Between Venue and Creta
The Bayon will be around 4.18 meters long, positioning it between the Venue and Creta from Hyundai. This vehicle will have a crossover style of appearance with features such as split headlamps, H shaped LED elements, flared wheel arches, and a gradually rising window line.
This vehicle will feature a high-tech cabin design. Sketches released in recent times indicate the use of two screens that are connected, controls for the climate system, and a vertically arranged center console.
Petrol & CNG Powerplants Anticipated
It is anticipated that the Bayon will feature Hyundai’s 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, churning out about 115hp. A six-speed manual and CVT transmission are anticipated to be available for the car.
Most intriguingly, a CNG version is anticipated to be made available by Hyundai. Should the CNG version of the Bayon be launched as anticipated, it will be the first car from Hyundai over four metres long to have a CNG powerplant.
How Much Will The Hyundai Bayon Be Priced At?
There has not been any formal declaration about the cost of this vehicle by Hyundai till now. Based on present projections, the cost of this SUV will range from ₹9 lakh to ₹14 lakh, hence falling under the category of sub-Hyundai Creta.
This Bayon will compete with vehicles like Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Grand Vitara, and even bigger variants of sub-4 metre SUVs.
The Verdict
The Bayon provides Hyundai with a chance to bridge the gap that currently exists between the Venue and Creta without replicating either of the models. The fact that it is built on mid-size proportions along with the features-filled cabin and CNG option offered by Hyundai makes it especially suited for people looking for practical use.
For the time being, some of the major things that remain uncertain are the variants, the specification list, and CNG details as well as the prices. But with bookings already opened, the Bayon has transitioned from a future product to a pre-launch product.
