An intense fire occurred in a Mercedes garage in the Balaji Market in Jaipur Tuesday night, which led to the burning of about eight luxury cars in addition to costly spare parts. Over 50 old and new vehicles had been kept at the garage when the fire occurred.
Firefighters Put Out Fire After Almost Two Hours

The fire spread fast in the workshop and heavy smoke was seen from around five kilometers away. The police and fire brigade arrived on the scene soon after receiving information about the fire, while electricity in the neighborhood was disconnected as a measure of caution.
Approximately 10 fire engines were involved in fighting the fire. Firefighters reportedly took more than 25 rounds in extinguishing the fire, which took them almost two hours to put out.
Several Cars Escaped from Being Burned
In spite of the destruction of eight cars, several others escaped being burned because the police and firefighters managed to get them out of the shop before the flames reached them. The fact that over 50 cars were available in the shop indicated a high possibility of fire reaching more vehicles. Accessories and spare parts were also destroyed.
Suspected Short Circuit, Investigation Ongoing
The fire was believed to be started by a short circuit; however, the official cause has yet to be determined. The police and fire officials are investigating the extent of the damage caused to the vehicles, the contents of the workshop.
Notably, there were no injuries caused due to the fire.
Our Point of View
As seen in the fire at the Jaipur workshop, a fire in an automobile factory can spread rapidly due to the large number of automobiles and flammable materials found in the workshop. Firefighters and law enforcement were successful in removing some automobiles before the fire could spread further.
Financial losses due to this fire have not been quantified, and there has been no confirmation about the short circuit being the cause of the fire. More information will be revealed once the investigation concludes.
